December Guidance Reading
The Chariot, The Sun & The Hermit
December's Guidance has some heavy weight to it, featuring all Major Arcana this month. From a glance at the collective picture of this reading we can see strong indications of water, fire and earth being key elements; as well as a connected themed of circles, indicating cycles, completion and harmony.
In succession, these cards read as the triumph of a battle resulting in celebration, good fortune and joy and new experiences to reflect upon in our period of rest.
The natural progression of this scene painted for us gives us a sense of "flow" that aligns with the end of our 2023 Seasons Reading. As we're concluding this last season, leaning into this natural progression will help us to amplify the skill of "flow" and embrace life's cycles as we also naturally flow into a new season and a new year.
Taking a closer look in now, The Chariot shows us that a strong sense of determination should be utilized against lingering challenges standing in the way of your goals. A final push to the finish line is needed in order to reap the rewards of hard work. Get ready to buckle down and make a charge for victory.
Be cautious to the blindness of ambition however, as this can leave us prone to unnecessarily hurting those around us in order to get what we want. A charge without clear direction or discipline can leave a disaster in your wake and a lonely victory. Understanding the difference between confidence and arrogance can vasty chance the outcome of this final battle.
The Sun brings us warmth and happiness. Celebrating wins and hardwork is needed in order to maintain a good sense of fortitude. Take time for acknowledging the work you've done and let the basking of success refill your cup before a new cycle begins.
Holding on to the challenges leading up to this point can dim the glow of victory just as equally as feigning true happiness for the benefit of others. Make sure your celebration is coming from a place of truth. If that isn't the case, perhaps a pause to heal the wounds and battle scars that linger will be the most beneficial before stepping into a period of celebration. Sometimes we may need to sit in and make peace with the hardships and hurtles in order to heal, understand and appreciate our own efforts; otherwise we may find resentment beginning to bubble under the surface.
Finally, The Hermit asks us to take everything we've learned and reflect. Introspection is a great way to solidify the growth made during this cycle. Meditation and self-reflection sits at the end, during a nice period of rest. This step is greatly required before being able effectively move forward. Not only will it give us a chance to understand a newer version of ourself, it allows us to plan our next steps and apply what we've come to know to future endeavors that lay before us.
Be careful of the temptation of isolation. This moment of internal reflection can be peaceful but it isn't meant to linger. Staying in this phase leads to stagnation as there are no lessons to learn or growth to be made by avoiding the progression of our cycles.
We are fast approaching the end of a cycle. Makes your moves with confidence and determination so you may reap in the rewards of your efforts and celebrate your victories! When the dust settles, take what you've learned into a much needed rest and reflect on yourself and what steps you'll be taking moving forward.
